Just when I felt that my son was growing up too fast, he surprised me by shouting with delight when I gave him a babystar soy organic blanket (although he is too old for a blanket I caved in,  because he was jealous of his younger sister's blankie inflatuation).  The soy organic blanket is soft and warm or as he would describe it, the blanket is cuddly.

Babystar.com offers a number of great organic baby/toddler clothing and blankets.  For 20% discount enter the following code: star20.  This offers expires 12/31/2010.

For more product information, please visit. www.babystar.com.  Right now until the end of February, you can get free shipping with your purchase using the following code "HEART" at the checkout page.

I'm staying on track with my 2010 goal of training for my first race this year.  Yesterday I ran 12 min/mile for 3 miles on a treadmill (hey, we all have to start somewhere).  I am thinking of a 5K race in early fall.  That way, I can have plenty of time to train and improve on my time (hopefully without too much pain).

Anyway, I felt really sore this morning so I needed to rest today and do some yoga.  www.goKalyx.com offers nice and comfortable 100% organic cotton T shirts.  The T shirts are soft and cut slightly longer than other T shirts (the longer length creates a very flattering figure and it automatically lengthens the torso).  I love the sweet sage Yoga T shirt shown here.  They also come in other inspirational colors with words such as "Race," "Ride," "Drive," "Surf" and "Chill."

From now through March 31st, you can receive an awesome deal, a 20% discount on your entire order (for all of their products) by entering the following discount code "Eco20" at www.goKalyx.com.  For more product information, please visit www.goKalyx.com.

Scientific findings usually show that a unique edible fruit or vegetable is great for us.  This usually leads to production of many wonderful edible products in the market.  Then subsequent findings usually show that the same fruit or vegetable is actually good for use as a topical cream or skincare product (which makes sense, if it's good enough to eat, it should be good enough to put on our skin).  It's a wonderful product development process.

Well, I've been drinking pomegranate juice for a few years now (ever since studies have shown that pomegranate is about three times or more nutritional than other leading fruit juices).  I recently discovered a new Pomegranate skincare line from www.Weleda.com.

Their pomegranate products are 100% certified natural with no perservatives, fragrances or chemicals.

I tried the Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream.  It's a great moisturizing cream with studies showing that the cream prevents premature formation of age spots (which is great because I'm beginning to see some signs of age spots on my hands).

In addition to being sold at Whole Foods Markets, their products are now available at all Target stores.  For more information about their products, visit www.weleda.com.  Their website is offering a free trial size of their product with the purchase of any full size Pomegranate skincare product.

Three samples of their Pomegranate Regenerating Bodycare Kits will be randomly given away to email program members by March 31st, so join the free Eco-friendlyliving.com Email program today by submitting your contact information in the "Join Free Email Program" section of this website.  Please note that your complete mailing address will need to be provided in order to receive samples.  Your contact information is not sold or shared to any third parties. Random giveaways are sent by the end of each month.

Yes, Valentine's Day is coming up.  Besides the usual flowers, cards and chocolate (which I love by the way), another great gift idea is sending organic fruit baskets to your loved ones.  I found a great website www.goldenstatefruit.com that offers organic fruit gift baskets.  I love their organic milk chocolate cherries.  What a great nutritional treat.

For more information about their products, visit their website at
www.goldenstatefruit.com.

They are offering free shipping with no minimum purchase required.  If you have any great organic gift ideas, please feel free to share with the rest of us.

The two weeks countdown to Valentine's Day is about to begin.  It's time for flowers, cards and of course, lots of chocolate.  If you are planning to purchase chocolate for your loved ones, you might want to consider buying Vosges chocolates.  I tried the organic Dominican republic dark chocolate candy bar.  It's 74% cacao and contains 30% of the daily recommended value of iron!  Their chocolate is produced using 100% renewable energy.  It makes me think if a boutique shop can do this, it's time the major corporations join the party and re-vamp their production to focus on using renewable energy.

Vosges Haute Chocolat is an indulgence for yourself or your loved ones.

If you visit their website today at
www.vosgeschocolate.com, you can find out how you can win a romantic getaway weekend to Paris sweepstakes!

I love trying new organic, eco-friendly products.  Seems like each new product  is formulated to be simply better than previous ones.  This is simply the law of free markets (yes, I am still reaping the benefits of having double majors in Biology and Economics from college over a decade ago).  Sometimes we forget the trailblazers and pioneers that were bold and visionary enough to create such markets. I'm writing to remind you that their products are great and there is a reason why they have such "cult-like" followers.  I recently tried Pharmacopia's Lavender Body lotion.  The lavender scent is soothing and the lotion dries quickly (leaving just smooth silky skin).  The company was established in 1999.  My only wish is that I discovered their products sooner.

Pharmacopia is one of the first organic bodycare companies.  Pharmacopia is sold in top spas and boutiques internationally. Their products are developed according to ancient healing wisdom, promoting balance and comfort while delighting the senses. Pharmacopia’s products use potent anti-oxidants and therapeutic plant extracts with no parabens, petro-chemicals, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, or colors.   For more information on their products, please visit
www.pharmacopia.net.

Samples of their lavender lotion will be randomly given away to email program members by February 28th, so join the free Eco-friendlyliving.com Email program today by submitting your contact information in the "Join Free Email Program" section of this website.  Please note that your complete mailing address will need to be provided in order to receive samples.  Your contact information is not sold or shared to any third parties. I finally set up a system to pay my bills online.  I am saving money on stamps (avoiding long waits in the post office) and feeling good about this eco-friendly move.  I just wish I did it earlier.  I was skeptical at first, but once I found a secure system (and having all of my friends urging me to.... yes, peer pressure worked in this case), it was fast and easy.  Just be sure you still keep track of your expenses/payment by either writing down the transaction confirmation number of printing it out from the computer.

By the way, I've been paying taxes and submitting it online for three years so far.  The system is near foolproof.  Just be sure you submit your tax forms at least 4 business days before the fateful April 15th due date.  Because most systems email you a confirmation number verifying that you have submitted it on time.  If you submit it at the last minute, your verification might actual indicate that you submitted the paperwork late (yuck!).  You can also file for an online extension (for those who need more time).
