![]() I'm staying on track with my 2010 goal of training for my first race this year. Yesterday I ran 12 min/mile for 3 miles on a treadmill (hey, we all have to start somewhere). I am thinking of a 5K race in early fall. That way, I can have plenty of time to train and improve on my time (hopefully without too much pain). Anyway, I felt really sore this morning so I needed to rest today and do some yoga. www.goKalyx.com offers nice and comfortable 100% organic cotton T shirts. The T shirts are soft and cut slightly longer than other T shirts (the longer length creates a very flattering figure and it automatically lengthens the torso). I love the sweet sage Yoga T shirt shown here. They also come in other inspirational colors with words such as "Race," "Ride," "Drive," "Surf" and "Chill." From now through March 31st, you can receive an awesome deal, a 20% discount on your entire order (for all of their products) by entering the following discount code "Eco20" at www.goKalyx.com. I discovered a great eco-friendly clothing company, www.alosport.com. They offer a variety of eco-friendly sportswear. I love their long sleeve 2X2 ribbed sweater. It's made with bamboo and organic cotton (I didn't even know that bamboo is so versatile). The soft sweater is pretty and comfortable enough to wear throughout the year (great for layering or wearing by itself). I love wearing it. In addition to offering eco-friendly products, Alosport offices use solar power energy, natural cleaning products, green office supplies and support healthy living among their employees. I've read about conserving energy and money by hanging up my laundry instead of using the dryer, so I've decided to go ahead and try it. I always thought that it might be too time consuming but actually it only took about fifteen minutes to hang up all of the clothes and voila! it's done. I think this is almost as painless as buying and using energy efficient light bulbs. Tackle the closet 09/18/2009
I decided to reorganize my closet. I am usually tempted by sales/discounts. It is amazing how many items I discovered that I have (sometimes I buy sale items and forget to wear them). I must admit that I also found some t shirts from my college days (although I might be able to fit them, they are so worn out, I plan to use them as cleaning scraps). I cleaned out the kids' closets as well. I have a pile for donation/clothing swap and another pile for toys to wear (the ones that have extremely shrunk and have multiple stains). Any additional suggestions on how to reuse/recycle old clothes? Walmart Makes Ecofriendly Clothes 08/05/2009
I was initially skeptical but I purchased organic t shirts at Walmart for my kids and they love them. I like how soft they feel and the colors do not fade over time. Great value!
