I'm staying on track with my 2010 goal of training for my first race this year.  Yesterday I ran 12 min/mile for 3 miles on a treadmill (hey, we all have to start somewhere).  I am thinking of a 5K race in early fall.  That way, I can have plenty of time to train and improve on my time (hopefully without too much pain).

I've read about conserving energy and money by hanging up my laundry instead of using the dryer, so I've decided to go ahead and try it.  I always thought that it might be too time consuming but actually it only took about fifteen minutes to hang up all of the clothes and voila!  it's done.  I think this is almost as painless as buying and using energy efficient light bulbs.

I decided to reorganize my closet.  I am usually tempted by sales/discounts.  It is amazing how many items I discovered that I have (sometimes I buy sale items and forget to wear them).  I must admit that I also found some t shirts from my college days (although I might be able to fit them, they are so worn out, I plan to use them as cleaning scraps).    I cleaned out the kids' closets as well.  I have a pile for donation/clothing swap and another pile for toys to wear (the ones that have extremely shrunk and have multiple stains).  Any additional suggestions on how to reuse/recycle old clothes?

I was initially skeptical but I purchased organic t shirts at Walmart for my kids and they love them.  I like how soft they feel and the colors do not fade over time.   Great value!  Let me know what you think?
