Support efforts to protect our Atlantic Shores!
There is strong opposition to drilling for oil off the Atlantic Coast in the Outer Banks.
Dare County and some of its towns and other organizations tied to tourism have written resolutions opposed to the idea. On Monday, a record crowd turned out to comment on a federal proposal for oil and gas exploration while a group of opponents met nearby. Over four hours, 670 people attended the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management meeting - most of whom opposed drilling.
The Southern Environmental Law Center is opposing offshore drilling. You have until midnight today to submit your comments to the US government at

I have been working on my peacock yoga pose. This is a challenging pose for me. I enjoy teaching yoga classes and often have students come up to me after class asking me "how long will it take for me to learn this (blank) pose?" The answer is everything takes practice and patience. As I continue with my yoga journey, I realize that I will never master yoga. There are too many variations in asanas (poses) and there are always opportunities for improvement. So, enjoy the journey and know that the joy comes from the practice.

As I continue my daily running streak, I have also included regular long runs for my full and half marathon training. I wear a Spibelt with water resistant pocket & gel loops on my runs. This is an essential running gear. It is water resistant so you don’t have to worry about getting your cellphone or other items wet from sweat or accidental water spills.
It is large enough to fit an iPhone 6 snuggly in the pocket as well as cash, credit cards and/or keys. There are six gel loops so you have plenty of gels that you can carry on your long runs. The waist length is adjustable as well. It comes in many different colors. I enjoy having my essential items securely in my belt. Knowing that I can always make a quick phonecall gives me security when I go out on long runs.
Unlike other brands, the belt fits securely around your waist so it does not bounce or shift around while you run (other brands may cause some shafing or irritation over time).
It is very lightweight. The company started in Austin, TX in 2006 by a female runner who identified a need to have a belt to carry her essential items during runs. It is now a nationally known brand and is a leading running belt worn by many runners.
