The following are some suggestions on how you can have an eco-friendly Disney vacation:
I had a disappointing experience visiting the Disney theme parks in Orlando, Florida. The theme parks were wonderful. However, I found it very troubling that there were no recycling cans in Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. I did see one recycling can in Walt Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The following are some suggestions on how you can have an eco-friendly Disney vacation: - Do not take more than one of the theme park maps and if you do take one, remember to return it to the map stand as you leave the park - Pack your own snacks, food and drinks (yes, the Disney theme parks check your bags at security at the entrance. You are allowed to bring in your own food, snacks and drinks (although they do not advertise this) - Carpool to the theme parks if possible - Avoid buying unnecessary souvenirs, consider framing your photos at home and make your own homemade souvenirs - Bring your own pancho, rain jacket (instead of purchasing the disposable one) at Animal Kingdom if you plan to ride the Rapids ride. Also, if you are concerned and curious about the Disney eco-friendly policies, stop by the customer service office (located near the entrance at most of the themed parks) and ask the staff. Disney is very customer centric, therefore, the more people ask about their eco-friendly sustainability policy, the more likely they are to update and enforce it.
