When I see children around my son's age getting personal DS handheld games, cellphones and other gadgets, I wonder whether I am somehow depriving him.
So far, he is happy when I share my computer and camera with him. He seems more excited when I actually sit next to him and spend time doing what he wants to do. That often means doing some woodwork or drawing project. Recently, I spent a nice afternoon drawing for my kids. Here is a sea dragon that I drew.
Part of my 2013 goals is to give the gift of time to my loved ones. I confess that it's the unscheduled moments of parenthood where I sit and watch my kids playing or cozy up next to them and read that I enjoy the most. Therefore, I am going to do more of that moving forward.
